| | | | Accelerating HPC Solutions with FDR InfiniBand InfiniBand FDR (Fourteen Data Rate, 14Gb/s data rate per lane, 56Gb/s per port) is the next generation InfiniBand technology that introduces a number of enhancements for higher performance, scalability and reliability. These include:
- Network Bandwidth: Data rate increase of more than 70% compared to previous InfiniBand generations
- Network Latency: Reduction in latency enables faster communication and synchronization between application processes
- Network Efficiency: Network spends more time on actual data delivery between application job processes compared to previous InfiniBand generations
- Network Reliability & Data Integrity: Forward Error Correction (FED) was added to FDR and delivers superior network reliability and predictable low latency.
To learn more about how these and other enhancements can accelerate your HPC solutions, download this new white paper .

IDC Report: The Next Phase of Datacenter Network Resource Management and Automation Increasingly, organizations are looking to move to the next phase of virtualization, which allows for the dynamic migration of workloads throughout the datacenter. In this paper, IDC analyzes the need for a virtual-aware dynamic fabric that enables the flexibility and efficiency of connectivity of virtualized workloads over 10GbE, with emphasis on dynamic resource allocation and automation. IDC also profiles Mellanox UFM software, which delivers:
- Improved visibility into fabric performance and potential bottlenecks with its monitoring engine
- Improved performance due to application-centric optimizations by correlating to an application through its event mechanism
- Quicker troubleshooting time due to advanced event management
- Efficient management of dynamic and multitenant environments
- Reduced risk and increased compliance of fabric configuration changes
- Real-time results because provisioning and monitoring systems are visible immediately
